FEES AND INSURANCE

We aim to provide as much transparency as possible around the cost of periodontal and implant treatment and will always provide a full and detailed quote for your treatment options after your consultation. An indicative fee and price list is provided below. This price list is a general guideline.

+ What is the fee for a consultation?

The fee for a consultation is $250, which includes all investigations and any radiographs that are required, as well as a comprehensive discussion of the findings and treatment options. If you have private health insurance you may be eligible for a rebate for the consultation, depending on your health fund and level of cover.

+ How much does treatment cost?

The cost of treatment with a periodontist varies depending on the type of treatment, severity of the problem and the individual patient's needs. For guidance, approximate fee ranges for commonly performed treatment is detailed below.

CONSULTATION

The fee for a consultation is $250, which includes all investigations any radiographs that are required, as well as a comprehensive discussion of the findings and treatment options. PERIODONTAL TREATMENT

The fee for periodontal treatment depends on the severity of the disease, number of teeth affected and type of treatment performed, (which can range from simple maintenance, to complex nonsurgical periodontal treatment). Click here to read more about the treatment of periodontal disease.

Treatment may range from $1500 to $2000 for a full course of periodontal treatment.

PERIODONTAL SURGERY

Periodontal surgery, including procedures like frenectomy, crown lengthening, gum grafting, periodontal surgery for treatment of periodontal disease, and periodontal regeneration can range from $500 for a frenectomy, to $2500 for complex regeneration or grafting. DENTAL IMPLANTS

For the surgical component of a dental implant, the fee will range from $2900 per implant for a straightforward implant, to $4000 for a complex implant, such as one that requires extensive bone grafting or a sinus augmentation. Your restorative dentist will be able to provide you a quotation for the restorative component of the implant. Depending on your level of cover you may receive a rebate from your private health insurer.

+ Does Medicare cover treatment?

Medicare is a government funded health insurance program that covers the cost of medical treatment. Unfortunately it does not cover dental treatment. Therefore procedures such as periodontal therapy and dental implants come with an out-of-pocket expense.

+ What can I claim from private health insurance?

There are 2 types of private health insurance – Hospital, and Extras. Your Extras insurance provides you with a rebate on the cost of various dental procedures such as examinations, periodontal treatment and surgery. The rebate available depends on your health fund, the length of time that you have been a member, and your individual level of cover.

+ Do you offer payment plans?
